To date Zachary has raised over $10,000, which has gone towards funding his first project to build a school with Free the Children in Kenya, Africa.

Zachary's Journey

Zachary Collins lives in Guelph, Ontario, with his parents, brother and dog, Marley.  Zachary began writing children's books when he was in Grade 1 and in the spring of 2013, he combined his passion for writing with his desire to help other children across the world and began selling his books for charity. He published his first teen novel in 2016. He is currently publishing two more novels that are expected to be published in Spring, 2019. 

Zachary's journey started after seeing Marc Kielburger from Free the Children speak about the lack of education for children in emerging countries. He wanted to help make a difference. He self-published his first book Medieval Mystery and went door to door, telling his story and selling his book. ​

His second book, George & Madeline & The Chinese Dragon vs the Pirates, was launched in October of 2013 and in September 2014, he was honoured as the youngest author to read at one of the most well-known writers festivals in Canada, the Eden Mills Writing Festival.​
